50 Word Round Up…Hull (League Cup)

Abbeydale Voyager IPA (Ekuanot, Cashmere, Huell Melon) in The Devonshire Cat After Works Promotion is the best beer deal in town at £3.50. But, why make up names for Hops. George Long, Hurray. Nigel Adkins, Boo. David Parkhouse, Who? This Poxy Cup. Small crowd. Easier to get a Bus. Phil Rose (of Ball Sup fame)

In many ways the perfect result. Back to our recognisable fluency in the second half and then to be knocked out of the ‘nobody gives a cup’ was the icing on the cake. Imagine Wilder will be pleased. Sam Joseph

The George Long derby saw United crash out of the energy drink cup however that didn’t stop United from playing some outstanding football and looked more likely to win. A goal from Jon Toral saw United losing at half time but the second half saw a blistering performance with United equalising via a great move between John Fleck and Billy Sharp. Eliminated on penalties but much improved. John Slingsby

Had a hot Bovril at half time and wondered what it would be like if it was cold. Haven’t thought about that again until writing this now. I think ‘Cold Bovril’ neatly describes Adkins’ uncomfortable tenure at the Lane. The second half was reminiscent of last season. Penalties are fun. Onwards! Steve Mackan
